These clients came to us with a lot of good ideas for outdoor family living. However, they knew they needed help putting the pieces of the design together, particularly because they had a relatively small footprint and a large wishlist. Ultimately, many of the choices had to be made around condition of the property. Our plan was to get them set on a solid foundation so they could trust the infrastructure of their landscaping. We took care of the necessities plus brought in a very nice shaded pergola with a garden surround and a place for the kids to do cartwheels. We allowed the sideyard to be a utility yard, and we took out the lawn and brought in a colorful, mostly native garden.
