Our mission on this project was to provide a California native garden surround to soften the perimeter of the poolscape. The homeowner wanted to provide habitat to pollinators with her plant choices. We carefully selected manzanitas that would grow taller to fill the spaces along the fence where there was more visibility into the neighbor’s yard. We also chose sages and ceanothuses for vibrant colors at ground level. And, for late spring/summer color, we brought in a few (non-native) penstemon.
