Challenge: Integrate a lagoon-style pool with a concrete surround (no coping) into a modernized environment with low-maintenance required for every detail of the design. And a lot of cars to park. We expanded the parking space and took down all the fences and barriers throughout the property to create a sense of welcome. Keeping the existing cement around the pool was a non-negotiable, so we concrete cut the cleanest shape possible and installed pavers to blend with the large swaths of parking. The patio wraps around the house to provide a private game court. Large boulders soften the lines, and the client wanted desert-style plantings.
