Meet Cyn

Why do people choose to work with me?

Most clients say it comes down to three things:

  1. Friendly, collaborative, and responsive from start to finish

  2. A design process that brings clarity to your ideas, questions, and goals

  3. Most importantly, I design to install — with clear priorities, scalable options, and a path to construction

Designer. Gardener. Neighbor.

I’m a mom, a gardener, a designer, and the owner of YesPlease.GARDEN.

My son is on track to be a Cal High grad, and we’ve called the Diablo Valley home for over 20 years. Most mornings start early—tea in hand, heading down the backroads of South Walnut Creek, Danville, or Livermore to visit a job site or a nursery. It’s one of my favorite parts of the day.

I started YesPlease.GARDEN after working for a large paver company and seeing the disconnect between hardscape and planting decisions. Homeowners were often overwhelmed, making big choices in the wrong order. I knew that with the right guidance earlier in the process, I could save people stress, time, and money—and create outdoor spaces that felt far more natural and thoughtful.

My background blends interior design, real estate, marketing, and hospitality—but outdoor living turned out to be the perfect fit. It brings together everything I care about: creativity, people, and the real-world work of transforming a space. You’re just as likely to catch me tagging plants at the nursery or mapping irrigation zones on a job site as you are fine-tuning our software systems or laying out the structure of a 3D landscape.

My own garden is a lab of sorts—full of California natives and visited by over 110 people during the 2025 Bringing Back the Natives Tour. I’m a longtime supporter of CNPS and BBTN, and I use my own landscape to test plant performance and pruning techniques before recommending them to clients.

Outside of work, I’m a regular at C2 classes at CorePower Yoga in Blackhawk, and I’ve been a quilter for decades. I’ve always had a thing for color, texture, and balance—my childhood dream was to become a fashion designer, and that love of fabric never left me.

What I love most about this work is the mix: job sites and laptops, patterns and plants, people and plans. Every project is different, but the goal is always the same—to help homeowners move from unsure to excited with a space that’s ready to build and easy to love.
