PLEASANT HILL: BACKYARD RESORT

DESIGN GOAL: Create a resort ambiance with multiple functions to bring friends and family to visit.

  • rework side entry to perform as a welcoming California Native garden with path & seating area
  • design a footprint to accommodate play area, pergola, hot tub, and relaxation
  • design a “utility” garden area on side of house
  • plant hillside with California Native shade and privacy trees (evergreen and deciduous)

“In the past, we have asked one thing of our gardens: that they be pretty. Now they have to support life, sequester carbon, feed pollinators, and manage water.”
