DESIGN GOAL: create the hardscape and foundation plants for a garden that would feel “made by hand”

  • design gathering spaces that would have separation from the main living room
  • create a diagonal flow across the space
  • thoughtful paths for moving between patios
  • reinvent the raised patio from eyesore to asset

“What is there in the stuff we call earth that helps a plant grow? It must be alive with all kinds of things or how else could a seed ever germinate? When I garden, that very aliveness comes into my spirit.”

— Connie Goldman
